Sturgeon County Open Space Asset Management Project

In 2022, Sturgeon County established the Open Spaces program within the Community Services division. The County possesses approximately 1,500 hectares of both undeveloped and developed land dedicated to parks, trails, and open space networks. The Open Spaces program area is tasked with multiple responsibilities, including open space planning, land and asset acquisition/development, as well as collaboration with other departments for asset utilization, care, and eventual renewal or disposal.

Given the establishment of the new Open Spaces program, Sturgeon County has engaged T2SR Consulting Inc. to consolidate all park assets across the organization and provide an asset management program to extend the service life of park facilities, protect public safety, and enhance the experience of park visitors.
